Mommy says: "I've got a crick in my neck..."
Maddox says: "You've got a cricket in your neck? Why? Did it bite you?..."

36 weeks old…

Maddox is thirty six weeks old and sometimes hears “no no” more than anything else. Now that he’s crawling, he’s into anything and everything. At first, his main attraction was our fireplace. We purchased a fireplace pad and now he has decided the fire place is not fun anymore. It is absolutely amazing how that works.

He also spends a lot of time crawling in the kitchen…which kind of surprised us because we have tile and thought it would be a little uncomfortable for him…apparently not. He’s really fast too. It’s like he has 3 crawling speeds.

  • 1st Gear = crawling so slow that he’s almost dragging his body
  • 2nd Gear = casual crawling…like the speed of a parade
  • 3rd Gear = “yes I am going over there and you can’t catch me”

He’s also pulling himself up on everything now. It’s really cool watching him but with this new tallent there have been new bumps and bruises. He has officially received his first busted/bloody lip while trying to stand up and he has bumped his head a couple of times.

What’s really amazing is his obsession with our dishwasher. As soon as we open it he heads straight for it. He like’s to pull himself up on it…which is both dirty and dangerous. He also figured out how to open the dishwasher when it’s closed. So we have to lock it at all times now. No matter how many times we tell him “no no”, pick him up and move him…he turns around and heads for it again. He’s very determined when he wants something.

With all of that, there are still occasional moments where he will sit still…ahhhhh…and in those moments…we breathe!
