What you’re going to see is Maddox playing with a lizard. But at one point, around the 3:04 mark, you will see Maddox’s facial expression change and he pauses. He tells me that the lizard bit him but as you will see, I didn’t believe him. Oops!

I had to stay home with Maddox recently because he was sick. While sitting there monitoring my email and catching up on NickJr with Maddox, my cell phone rang. When I answered it I quickly realized the guy on the other end called me by mistake so I said “sorry, you’ve got the wrong number“. When I hung up, Maddox asked me who was on the phone and I responded “it was a wrong number“. At that point, the craziness took place.

Maddox looked at me and said “I want to talk to wrong number”, and of course I could not explain on the level of a two year old that wrong number was not someone we knew personally or needed to talk to. So, he grew frustrated and reached a point of anger, screaming, and crying. I, of course, was laughing hysterically, which frustrated him more. After several minutes of us going back and forth I was finally able to capture a few moments on video. This is good stuff…

Here we have Maddox and mamma going through a series of songs with Maddox demonstrating his vocal range. We’ve got You Are My Sunshine (which is Mamma and Maddox’s special song together) and This Little Light of Mine. It doesn’t matter what song you throw at him, he has the chops to lay down the bass track, tenor track, or scary-run-and-hide track…

Here we have Maddox enjoying a nice evening bath while being entertained by his Elmo bath toy. What Elmo doesn’t realize is that he should have popped a few Tylenol before taking on this adventure.

And no, we do not preach aggression or violence in our home…but Elmo had it coming…

By this time of the year the kids are CRAZY and thus that makes the teachers even more CRAZY ; ). I am very thankful to get to spend my time off with my wonderful and HILARIOUS husband and sweet baby boy. I Hope you all have a restful and blessed Thanksgiving! Feel free to stand up and do a jig or two while watching.

As soon as it comes on he tunes everything else out. So, we taped him bust’n some moves to Yo Gabba Gabba. I’m not sure where he got his moves but we’re going to work on it! Yes, that’s right…I said we. I have some moves…I’ll bust out with a little MC Hammer so don’t doubt.

Anyway, this is the coolest, cutest, most adorable (call it what you want) thing in the world. Our little boy with no care in the world, just enjoying himself, smiling, and jirating. We love it!

Now, we’re absolutely sure. Are you ready? Maddox’s first word was “ma-ma“.

When he was cutting his first teeth he did not sleep well. He had been crying most of the night and was up most of the night. During the night, he started crying really hard and blurted out “ma-ma“. We weren’t sure if he actually said it or if it was just a crying sound. We tried to get him to say it again, the next day when he wasn’t crying, but were not successful. But it wasn’t long and he said it again, while crying. It seemed to become a regular occurence. When he cried, he said “ma-ma“.

This all happened in the middle of March. He doesn’t say “ma-ma” that much right now because he has moved on to new words…”da-da“!

That’s right…my little man says “da-da“. And he doesn’t just say it and move on. He says “da-da” constantly…while he’s crawling, while he’s eating, when he’s playing. It is the most beautiful sound in the world! And of course, “ma-ma” is the most beautiful sound in the world to Jennifer.

He started saying “da-da” about a month ago. For those of you who need proof, watch the video below!

But wait, the fun doesn’t stop there! We are pretty sure he’s trying to copy us and say “no-no” now. I mean it makes sense. He hears it all day long. It’s hilarious! He crawls around and you hear “da-da-da-da-da no-no-no-no-no“. We think his next word will be “bite“. That’s what we say when we’re feeding him…and of course….it seems like we feed him all day long too!

One of my BIGGEST fears with him being in daycare was that he would do all these things there for the first time and then we would be told about it. I felt like we should experience these moments with him first…not someone else. I feel so extremely blessed that we have been a part of his “first-time” events.

We drove through the water several times and our car almost stalled. We finally found a road that was not completely covered and made it out.

At church there were many activities planned and the sun came out just in time so it turned out to be a beautiful Easter day! As you can see in the pictures he is sporting his Easter suit and tie which was too cute on him!

When we got home from church his Easter basket was waiting and we let him dig in. He enjoyed his first chocolate bunny which was hilarious because he was gnawing on it with his two little teeth and could not get enough of it. He threw a fit when I had to take it away, as you can see in the video. I think we have a chocolate fiend on our hands. I wonder where he got that from??? After the little chocolate treat we had to get one last photo shoot in since it turned out to be a beautiful day. Mommy’s chubby bunny!
