Jennifer is now 31 weeks pregnant and counting. We are getting closer and closer to the big moment. Maddox should be longer than 16 inches by now…and he should hit a growth spurt pretty soon. He can now turn his head from side to side and he’s gaining more and more baby fat. It has been one of the most unbelievable and exciting things to experience all the changes that have taken place from the moment we first saw the + sign on the pee stick to now. We can’t wait to hold him for the first time, see what he looks like, who he acts like…
Supposedly carrying him is like carrying 4 oranges (below). Jennifer thinks that statistic is wrong and it’s more like carrying an orange tree!

Here’s the bare belly shot everyone’s been waiting for! This is Jennifer at 30 weeks pregnant. From the front she’s round…but a little pointy from the side. She says it feels a whole lot bigger, heavier, and more awkward than what it looks.

We had our second and last ultrasound recently. We waited in the Dr.’s office for over 1 1/2 hours for the Doc. to show up. The room was hot and Jennifer had her glucose test that morning…which meant she had to down a gallon or 2 of some foreign substance. When the doctor finally showed up and began the ultrasound, Jennifer started to get nauseated. So…he hurried through the whole process and we didn’t get to experience as much as the first ultrasound.
| However, the most important thing is that Maddox is doing great. He’s growing and developing like he’s supposed to. He weighed approximately 3.5 lbs…and he’s looking chubby! We are getting even more anxious and excited. The nursery is complete for the most part except for one piece. Jennifer is more uncomfortable each and every day. Maddox has begun to take cheap shots in the ribs…which I find kind of funny but Jennifer seems to think it’s a little painful. Anyway, here are some pics from the second ultrasound. | You people are VICIOUS! |
“Update the blog Ray…when are you going to update the website RAY…what’s taking you so long.”
Well, I have put 2 and 2 together and now realize you are ready for me to update the blog. I apologize for the delay and the inconvenience it may have caused each of you.
Anyway…Jennifer is now 29 weeks pregnant (just over 7 months). Maddox is extremely active. He moves all of the time. The other night after church, my parents and some friends went to CrackDonalds (my new favorite term when referring to McDonald’s thanks to Bro. Charles). Maddox started moving while we were talking and everyone there could see him moving. That was pretty amazing. It is estimated that he should weigh about 2 1/2 lbs. now and should be a little more than 15 inches long. His muscles and lungs are continuing to develop and grow. We are getting even more anxious. We’re finished with the baby’s room for the most part but are still missing a couple of key pieces. I will post pictures once it’s complete. .
Here are some priceless moments from our first baby shower that our church threw for us. It was perfect to share and experience this with our family and friends.

Well, Jennifer is now a little more than 25 weeks pregnant. Time has really flown by! We are getting so excited, not that we weren’t, but I guess it’s the anticipation building up. We’ve started working on the nursery and trying to get it ready. I’ll post pictures of it hopefully before Monday. Maddox should be about 13 1/2 inches long now and he weighs in at about 1 1/2 lbs. He has started to add some baby fat and he is growing more and more hair…unless he’s a bald baby…who knows!
The picture below is not a picture of Maddox! Actually, it reminds me of the Jack in the Box antenna ball with no face and a little hair. Maybe it’s the back of Jack’s head 20 years from now! Just a thought. It could also be a comparison of a rutabaga to a quarter. If you know what a rutabaga is pat yourself on the back. I was not able to pat myself on the back. Like I said, it looks like the back of Jack’s head to me. Anyway, Maddox is supposedly about the size of a rutabaga. This picture kind of illustrates what’s rolling around in Jennifer’s belly!!
